Frequently Asked Questions

 

 

  1. Cubs require a uniform which consists of a Cub shirt, sash and handbook, which are available at the Scout Shop on Baseline Road.
  2. Activity shirts are available (orange or grey) and may be worn at meetings or camps, unless otherwise stated by leaders.
  3. Running shoes with non-marking soles are to be worn at every meeting.  Inherence to Scouts Canada policy, Cubs without shoes cannot participate in games.
  4. Dues ($1.00 per week) are collected to help defray the cost of badges and craft supplies.
  5. Meeting times are 6:30 pm to 7:50 pm.  Parents are asked to enter the meeting at the end of night to pick up their youth members.
  6. All Cubs are asked to have their uniforms purchased for investiture night on October 5th.
  7. This year, Cubs will be working to achieve the Tawny and Blue stars during meeting nights.  They are encouraged to complete work for the triangular badges at home, and when the work is completed they may sign up on a meeting night to be tested.  Maximum of 2 badges per night.
  8. An agenda of activites will be sent home every six weeks in written form.  This agenda and any updates will also be available at the Blackburn Wiki site located at http://1stblackburn.pbworks.com.
  9. A complete list of youth and leaders will be handed out to all members next week.
